VPI Board of Directors
Sylvia D. Campbell, MD FACS
Sylvia D. Campbell, MD FACS

Sylvia serves as the President of the BOD of VPI. She was born in Orlando, Florida, and received a BS and MS from Emory University in Atlanta, Ga. Later she received her MD from the University of South Florida, and completed a General Surgery residency there. She currently is in private practice in Tampa. She has served on and currently is President of the Board of the Judeo-Christian Health Clinic, a free medical clinic in Tampa, has served on the Board of the Medical Benevolence Foundation of the Presbyterian Church, as an elder with the Presbyterian Church, and was involved in development of Trauma Care Systems and Injury Prevention in the state as well as nationally. She has served on the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors of the American College of Surgeons, and currently serves on the Advisory Council of Operation Giving Back of the American College of Surgeons. She has served on mission trips to Haiti and Uganda since 1996, and been involved in helping children travel to the US for life saving care. She is married to Bob Campbell and has 3 children, Chelsey, Meaghan and Ross.

William Wallof (Bill)
William Wallof (Bill)

Bill Wallof serves as the 1st Vice President of the VPI Board of Directors. He was born in Tampa, Florida and attended college at the University of Florida where he received a degree in Political Science and History in 1962. He then went on the receive a Masters in Divinity from Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, VA, followed by additional graduate work in pastoral care at Princeton Theological Seminary . He worked as an informational specialist for the Hillsborough County Public Library System until his appointment in 1997 as the Dean of the Chapel at Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church in Tampa. His involvement with mission has grown since his initial involvement with Uganda in 2001, and he currently has begun scholarship programs, Christmas in Africa, and worked to develop the projects that have developed in Papoli since that time. He is married to Elaine, and has one son, Thomas, who is an architect in Baltimore, Maryland.

Dr. John T. DeBevoise
Dr. John T. DeBevoise

John serves as the 2nd Vice President of the Board of Directors of VPI.  He was born in Tampa, Florida and attended Eckerd College in St. Petersburg as an undergraduate.  He received his Theology degree  and Doctorate in Ministry from Union Theological Seminary in Virginia, and was ordained a Presbyterian minister for PCUSA in July of 1983.  He currently serves as the pastor of PalmaCeia Presbyterian Church in Tampa.  He has been involved in the development and implementation of many programs in each community he has served in, and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Judeo-Christian Health Clinic in Tampa. He has traveled to Haiti on medical mission trips since 1998, and has been an integral part of the work there. He is married to Emalee DeBevoise and has 3 children.

Iris Alexander
Iris Alexander

Iris Alexander serves as the Secretary for VPI. She was born in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Radiologic Technology and has been a clinical health care worker for 35 years. She currently serves as the Manager of the Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology Laboratories at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, Florida. She has served on the Board of Directors of Big Sisters, worked with Metropolitan Ministries, served as an OI Parent Liaison at the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, is a Stephen’s Minister with the Presbyterian Church, and served on Medical missions to Haiti. She has 2 sons, Brett and Alex, who are her life’s greatest treasures.

Dierdre Joseph
Deirdre Joseph

Deirdre Joseph serves as the Treasurer for VPI. She has a degree in Accounting and an MBA in business from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in Tallahassee, Florida. She previously owned an assisted living facility called “A Home of our Own”, and has worked with the Hillsborough County Medical Association. Currently she is employed by the Tampa Police Department. Her volunteer efforts include working with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and Cornerstone Kids. She currently serves on the Vestry at St. James House of Prayer.

David Alexander
David Alexander

David has a B.A. from Ohio State University and is President of BaySource Global, a consultant firm matching North American business with ideal manufacturing partners in various parts of the world. Previously he was EVP of Diamond Products Company which manufactured and distributed several lines of well known consumer goods brands. In addition to his involvement with VPI, he is a board member with the Gift of Adoption Fund, a Chicago based foundation that provides bridge grants to assist couples with the high cost of adoption. David is proud to be an elder at Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church, through whom he had the blessing of participating in the initial journey to Uganda in 2005 to commence what has become an enduring relationship with the village of Papoli.

Dennis Bradt
Dennis Bradt

Dennis Bradt serves as the Administrator for VPI. Dennis recently retired as Vice President of Raymond James Trust Company. He spent over forty years in the trust and estate planning business. Dennis is a graduate of the Univ. of South Fla where he obtained a degree in accounting. Dennis and his wife Betsy both feel they have a God inspired desire to work with and assist in helping the less fortunate of this world. They recently spent three months living with the villagers of Papoli Uganda in the capacity of ambassadors for their church and community. Dennis has four daughters and seven grandchildren.
