Summer Solstice

The summer solstice has passed, and we turn our faces into the sun to celebrate the slower pace of summertime.

It is a time of cherished childhood memories…of watermelon, summer camps, friends gathering on warm rich evenings; of lemonade, sunburned faces, the smell of Coppertone and the long lazy nights that open to a million stars, all rejoicing in the full and vibrant dance of these days.

It is a time to breathe, and leave the hectic pace behind for just one moment.
But for many in this world, summertime brings no relief from the grinding poverty, the search for one more meal, one more day…the cries for help, sometimes lost in the storms that come not only from nature, but also from life.
At VPI we search for ways to help others help themselves, and provide hope, and healing of not only the body, but the spirit and the soul as well.

On this beautiful summer day, enjoy the warmth of the life giving sun, and the coolness of the evening breeze…
As you do, won’t you join us on our journey,
and realize that you are a reflection of God’s love to those in need.
